A Very Special Portrait

I say this is a very special portrait because this man is so very special to our whole family!  "Grandpa Frank" or "Great-Grandpa Frank", as our kids call him, celebrated his 93rd birthday last week!  Living in Chicago his entire life and being one of the biggest Cubs fans out there, it only seemed fitting to have him wear his ball cap in the photo!  It's who he is!  He is one amazing person and I am so grateful everyday that we have been able to spend as much time with him as we have and that our children have gotten to know their great-grandpa;  truly a gift!  He is so precious to our family and having this portrait of him is so special and something we will always treasure!  Thank you for being such a wonderful model, Grandpa!!

Welcoming 2013 with gratitude!

Happy New Year!  As we enter a new year, I find myself reflecting on 2012.  I am counting my blessings!!  I admit my blog hasn't been updated in a few months.  I was forced to take some time off as I dealt with some health issues this fall....which eventually led to back surgery before the holidays.  Today, I am feeling especially grateful that I am on the mend and ready to work again!!   Thinking about the families I met and the people I photographed in 2012, I feel even more grateful for my business and the people it has brought into my life.  I appreciate all those who have trusted me to capture the special times in their lives!  I have met some truly wonderful families with touching stories along with many impressive high school seniors!  Looking forward to growing and continuing to capture life in 2013!!

An October Wedding!

October is gorgeous in Minnesota without a doubt;  it's becoming one of the more popular months to plan a wedding.  This sweet couple chose October for it's fall colors, something they don't see in their hometown of Vegas.  However, Minnesota can be unpredictable.  We had a rather chilly Saturday with a high in the low 40's, brrrr!  The bride and groom was so excited to be married and share their day with friends and family, the cooler temperatures weren't going to get in their way!  Being such good sports they never complained once about the chill in the air!  They were grateful to have each other the day they exchanged their vows!  Wishing you a lifetime of happiness!!

Wedding Bells are Ringing....

The wedding bells were ringing for this beautiful couple on a gorgeous September day!  Keeping the tradition of not seeing one another before the ceremony built up the excitement as doors opened and the bride walked toward her groom!  Congratulations!!  Here's a sneak peek of what we captured....enjoy!

Natural Beauty!

Meeting this girl is another reason why I enjoy photographing High School Seniors!!  She has such a natural beauty about her not to mention her gorgeous brown eyes!  Born in Texas, it was essential to incorporate the fun cowboy boots (again, hoping they were my size....j/k.)  She was one of my HS Senior's to luck out with the passing of a train...can't always guarantee that one!  Here's a peek from that gorgeous evening!!

She's a little bit country.....

She's a little bit country and a little bit rock-n-roll classical ballerina!!  I was excited to work with this HS Senior and was even more excited when her wardrobe included cowboy boots which I was hoping were my size....j/k.  We went from a little country flare to the elegant ballet moves and positions capturing her personality.  It was a joy to work with this young HS Senior who was both endearing and gracious!!  Thank you for a fun evening!!

Class of 2013 - Look Out!

I am getting caught up on my blog this week and as I look back at this gorgeous HS Senior I can remember over a year ago talking to her mom about photographing her daughter for her Senior portraits.  Already knowing she was an athlete, we talked about incorporating her love of softball into her session.  With a beautiful summer evening and lots of laughs I had so much fun getting to know this HS Senior!!  Here are a few of my favorites from her session.

Just stunning....

Beautiful inside and out!

This High School Senior is just beautiful!  I love that she is just as beautiful on the inside as the outside.  Her kind heart sure came across after spending an evening together.  The idea of a session at her High School campus was both peaceful and perfect with amazing light that evening.  Between dribbling a soccer ball in heels, a flute concert in the field and ending the night solving a case of the missing shoe, she was a great sport!!!  I LOVE what we captured!
